Each semester, MBA students at the Faculty of Business Administration at the University of Economics, Prague tackle selected real-world business challenges. Through collaboration with companies from various sectors, they gain valuable experience, whilst the organisations themselves gain a fresh perspective on how to resolve their operational issues.
The holding company was represented by three managers: Anna Matoušková (member of the board of directors and group HR director, MBA programme graduate), Jiří Rabiec (member of the board of directors and group finance director) and Jan Zázvorka (finance director for FMCG).
The students tackled two main challenges: the financial and strategic management of the holding company, with specific investment or divestment proposals including valuation criteria; and the effectiveness of investment in staff development, with a focus on top management development and succession planning.
The workshop confirmed the students’ ability to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world business situations. Representatives from CE Industries subsequently evaluated the proposals presented by the student teams.
